Introducing MechBass, a robot that plays bass guitar, from the engineering genius of James McVay. While attending Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand, James had spent 4 years developing his robot. Many of the components had gone through 3, or more, iterations.

Using a projector and an iPad, the user controls a horde of colorful balls as it’s projected onto a building. It’s a neat experiment controlled by an app on the device and makes one wonder why this technology isn’t more prominent in gaming.

Here’s proof that entertainment can be made from scratch. Using an 8×8 LED matrix, two buttons for input, and a little music, Mario-like platforming becomes playable. Maybe it’s not as simple as connecting those things but it still looks like a fun project!

So it turns out that when you let two Cleverbots talk to each other they get confused if they are a Robot or a Unicorn. Now if they could live on lollipop lane, I would be even more concerned.
